Former Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash

Aussie tennis legend and Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash recently visited the new getback South Melbourne clinic to find out more about our exercise therapy programs.

Pat, who lives in London, spearheaded Australia’s Davis Cup wins in 1983 and 1986 during a golden era for Australian tennis. getback™ Co-Founder and Clinical Director Geoffrey Mackay was the Davis Cup team’s Physiotherapist throughout the period. He describes Pat as a ‘fierce competitor’ who gave his all every time he walked onto the court. This blog is published on our partner Getback webpage.

Unfortunately, Pat was plagued by knee and back injuries throughout his career. Now aged 60, he follows a strict exercise regime to keep himself fit and strong. Pat tried out several spine and knee exercise therapy devices before completing a full strength and movement assessment.  The getback assessment precisely measured the strength and range of motion of supporting muscles around Pat’s spine and major joints. The assessment enables our Physiotherapists to design a personalised program targeting specific muscles that need strengthening and mobility work to relieve stress on joints.
