Familiar surroundings grow an interest in exercise technology
Eetu’s grandfather, now retired, worked as a welder in the Outokumpu factory since the 80s. Eetu’s father has been working as a welder for DAVID for 30 years now. For Eetu, the Outokumpu factory became a familiar place early on. He would visit the factory with his father and “visit the factory’s gym which got me interested in working out”.
It came naturally to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering at the nearby University of Applied Sciences in Joensuu. During his studies, Eetu began working part-time at the DAVID factory. “The idea started growing that maybe I could continue my career here once I graduated.”
Eetu continues to work out at the factory’s gym and has his own prevention program at the factory’s prevention center.

Prevention program encourages employees to exercise
The prevention program at the DAVID Factory is a scheduled training program. Employees complete the program once a week during work hours. They are also able to complete exercise training during their free time.
Company prevention program at DAVID takes place in the factory’s clinic.
Eetu is excited to add his to his exercise regime because the different Spine and Shoulder devices “target and train muscles that I usually don’t exercise in my normal exercise program.”
